Why-the-PTFE-Wire-conductor-can-not-be-tinned

The reason why PTFE wire is not tin-plated is that tin-plated copper has poor temperature resistance.  Moreover, the temperature in the PTFE production workshop is relatively high.  he temperature resistance of tinned copper is usually 200°C, while the processing and use temperature of PTFE is generally greater than 250°C, When tin-plated copper is exposed to high temperature for half an hour, the conductor will oxidize and turn black, and its chemical properties and service life will deteriorate.  The PTFE produced in this way cannot meet the high temperature resistance requirements.Thereby affecting the mechanical properties.

As we can see from the above table, due to the low temperature resistance of bare copper and tinned copper, PTFE wires usually use nickel-plated copper or silver-plated copper.
